Only a mental health professional can diagnosis a patient and provide an ESA prescription.
In the case of an ESA, the prescription is provided to the patient as part of a treatment plan.
Without a proper assessment, a relevant diagnosis, and clear documentation,
the use of an ESA may be deemed “NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY” or even FRAUDULENT.

There may be some requirements for an ESA, but Federal law protects an individual based on his or her disability status and a proven medical necessity for having an emotional support animal. In order to be compliant it is ESSENTIAL to have documentation from a mental health professional.
